Bellevue Forest Pottery Workshop
July 7 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
FreeNote: This is an animal-friendly studio. While cleaning is regularly done, there will most likely be allergens present. Pets are welcomed with permission only.
Learn to make pottery in this two-week session. For our Bellevue Forest neighbors, this special workshop will include making a soup bowl, spoon, and chopsticks. During this workshop students will work on throwing pottery on the wheel and handbuilding. This class is well-suited for beginners who are new to the pottery or a beginner looking to build or refresh basic skills. The instructor will help start and finish pieces.
The class includes unlimited clay, oxides, glaze, and firings.
There are general pottery supplies for use in the studio. An apron and towel will be provided, though you can bring your own.
A maximum of 4 students will be in the class, allowing for plenty of hands-on guidance as needed. You must be able to attend both sessions as no make up sessions will be offered. Once the class is full, a waitlist will open for the next workshop.
Sample 3 hour, 2-week schedule:
- Week 1: Demo and practice throwing on the wheel and slab building. Thrown pieces will be trimmed by instructor after class and loaded into kiln for bisque firing.
- Week 2: Demo and glaze bisque pieces. Demo planing chopsticks and make your own pair from your chosen wood blanks. Glazed pieces loaded into kiln for glaze firing.
Finished pieces will be available to pick up within 2 weeks after the last class. More information will be provided during week 2.
Please contact us if you have questions or need accommodations.
